I noticed “Pickle Barell Subs” is looking like its nearing completion.
I snapped an evening photo of what looks like last minute contruction.
Cant wait for them to open.

Last night I had a nice chat and Haircut from Maquoketa’s newest Barber, Brian West.
He opened the new “Barber Stop” inside Theisen’s Store in Maquoketa. His parlor is a round looking Barber Pole, a kiosk set up towards the front of Theisen’s.
Haircuts are $11. and many other babrer services too.

downtown. I notices Boothes all set up, so it must be close to opening soon.

Maquoketa City Council members have changed the name of the Area Recreation Center to the Maquoketa Area Family YMCA.
The city has contracted with the Scott County Family YMCA to manage the center, which is under construction at Summit and Matteson streets. The facility will have an indoor pool, gym and fitness center when it opens [...]

The $6 million Area Recreation Center will have an indoor pool and gymnasium as well as exercise equipment and training area. The facility will be managed by the Scott County Family Y when it opens this fall.
