A Maquoketa man faces 43 charges for allegedly running an unlicensed taxidermy business in his house. Iowa Department of Natural Resources spokesman, Mick Klemesrud, says 36-year-old Lorin Felderman was arrested after a long investigation. He says the investigation was made possible after they got a sworn statement from a confidential informant.

downtown. I notices Boothes all set up, so it must be close to opening soon.

Two council members are steamed at their council mates for switching gears and allowing limited opening burning in the city.

Crystal Watters of Maquoketa earned two top ribbons in the visual appraisal portion of the FFA Performance Beef Show at the Iowa State Fair.
Watters took the Window A Champion and Window A Champion Produce ribbons.
To compete for the produce title, the steer Watters exhibited had to be from a cow she owned.

Maquoketa City Council members have changed the name of the Area Recreation Center to the Maquoketa Area Family YMCA.
